Keeping an eye on pharmaceutical corporations which offer internship within a laboratory setting, as well as, staying in communication with individuals such as advisor and company recruiters about possible internship opportunities
Work on my resume:
Reach out to people to look at my resume and provide me with feedback
Three to five years
Graduate from my university:
Keeping up with both my grades and assignments, in addition to keeping open communications between me and my professors will help me maintain my good academic standing through graduation maintaining a 3.5 and higher GPA.
Start rotational program:
Prior to settling down in a position I will enter in the company’s rotation program. This will expose me to almost all the departments within the company better helping me identify the best fit for me, in addition to the position which I will be most beneficial to the company.
The Long Run
Solidify my position within a pharmaceutical company:
Continuous hard work and showing the company what I can do will strengthen my presence in the company and allow me to move up.
Keep building onto my resume and LinkedIn profile:
Keeping track of activities which can and should add to my resume. Primarily engaging in activities which will help me gain more skills that I will be able to transfer into my career path. Preparing me for any opportunity that may arise during my journey to my desired career.
Goals:
My desired career path is to become part of a pharmaceutical corporation after undergrad. My dream is to work in a laboratory setting for a corporation as a research technician. Being a part of Level the Playing Field (LTPF) has given an opportunity to take a major step forward in my career journey. This will put me ahead of some of my peers. The lessons, connections, and skills that I have learned while being a part of this program, I would not have been able to achieve on my own. Through LTPF I have gained a better understanding and have improved my Linked In profile and my resume, increasing my opportunities of being seen by corporations that I may desire to work for in the future. Furthermore, the most important aspect, personally, I have gained through LTPF is the networking professionals from various backgrounds, stages of life, and careers. Being able to see and hear stories of how they achieved their career goals really gave me extra motivation that what I am doing is capable and very much possible to achieve.
